Waiver and Discount Policy for Publication Fees

The Journal of Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence (JITCAI) is committed to making high-quality research accessible and providing equitable publishing opportunities for researchers worldwide. As a Gold Open Access journal, we charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) of $50 per accepted article to cover the costs of peer review, editorial processing, and online hosting. However, we understand that some authors may face financial constraints. JITCAI offers waivers or discounts on publication fees to support researchers with limited resources.

Eligibility for Waivers and Discounts

Waivers and discounts on APCs are available for authors who meet certain criteria, including:

  1. Independent or Early-Career Researchers:
    Independent researchers without institutional funding and early-career researchers who may not have access to financial support for publication may apply for a discount.

  2. Exceptional Cases of Financial Hardship:
    Authors facing unique financial constraints may request a waiver or discount. Each application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

How to Apply for a Waiver or Discount

Authors wishing to apply for a waiver or discount should follow these steps:

  1. Prepare a Waiver Request Letter:
    Include a brief explanation of your financial situation, your institution (if applicable), and why you request financial assistance. For authors from eligible countries, mention your country of affiliation.

  2. Submit the Waiver Request with Your Manuscript:
    During the manuscript submission process, please attach your waiver request letter or email it to the editorial team at editor@jitcai.org with the subject line “APC Waiver Request – [Your Manuscript ID].”

  3. Await Notification:
    The editorial team will review your request and respond within two weeks. Approval of waivers or discounts does not affect the peer review process or the final editorial decision on your manuscript.

Important Notes

  • Transparency: All waiver requests are handled with the utmost confidentiality and do not influence the editorial or peer review process.
  • Partial Waivers: Authors may be offered a reduced APC rate if a full waiver cannot be granted.
  • Frequency of Waivers: To ensure broad access to this support, priority may be given to authors who have not previously received an APC waiver or discount from JITCAI.
